Welcome to Noah’s Ark, Forres

Nursery is often a child’s first adventure alone into the world outside the family and the home – what they experience and learn can create strong and lasting foundations to build on in later life

About us

Noah’s Ark Developmental Playgroup (SCO 21525) is a small charity that has been in the local community for forty years. It was originally established by Dr Isobel Scott to provide a service for children with additional needs.

In 2004 Noah’s Ark moved to a new purpose built building which was gifted by Sandy Adam.  With the help of the New Opportunities Fund we were able to extend our services into mainstream day care.

We are now a thriving day care centre, which for the last twenty years has provided high quality early learning and child care for all children.

Noah’s Ark continues to house an inclusive developmental group of children directly referred to us by professional partner agencies.

Our Philosophy

We are committed to making children the centre of our work.

We value and demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, diversity, social justice, anti-discrimination and protecting and caring for children.

We aim to provide safe, happy learning environments where every child feels secure, valued and confident.

We recognise that each child is an individual with their own personality and therefore we ensure that each child is respected and valued for who they are.

We encourage each child to develop at their own pace and according to their personal learning style.

We believe that in order to promote children’s pre-school development it is essential to involve, respect and work in partnership with parents and carers.

Our ethos is to encourage open, positive and supportive relationships with children and their families.
